Crime Watch Message

Hello everyone,

I am reaching out to you to please remind everyone within your communities to remove belongings and lock their vehicles at the end of the day.  We are continuing to see a trend in our area where the suspects are walking around during the late night hours and targeting unlocked vehicles.  Please continue to encourage everyone to call 911 upon seeing anyone suspicious in an attempt to help us get these subjects identified.  Thanks again and have a safe holiday season.

During Cold Weather, Take Preventative Action

  • Open kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors to allow warmer air to circulate around the plumbing. Be sure to move any harmful cleaners and household chemicals up out of the reach of children.
  • When the weather is very cold outside, let the cold water drip from the faucet served by exposed pipes. Running water through the pipe – even at a trickle – helps prevent pipes from freezing.
  • Keep the thermostat set to the same temperature both during the day and at night. By temporarily suspending the use of lower nighttime temperatures, you may incur a higher heating bill, but you can prevent a much more costly repair job if pipes freeze and burst.
  • If you will be going away during cold weather, leave the heat on in your home, set to a temperature no lower than 55° F.
